Victorian Passage has a delightful download…an 1887 Alamanac in PDF format (Photoshop has no problem opening this file format) in 300 dpi.  It comes in both a color and black and white version.

Capital Ilove free things…giving them away myself or finding some other like-minded soul.  The Graphics Fairy, who posts a new image every day, has recently posted quite a few very lovely images.  Gail Schmidt ~ Artist posts a new image every Friday.  Dawn from The Feathered Nest has posted a beautiful baby girl image.  MeeGee Designs offers up some beautiful sheet music papers on her website and Always Plumpster posted two gorgeous matted wooden frames.

Blue-Sky Morning
Adelaide B. Shaw

It’s a blue-sky morning
With a wind that’s blowing fair.
It’s a blossom-blowing morning.
There are springbuds in the air.

It’s a gold-sky morning
With a sun that’s blazing bright.
It’s an eye-blinking morning.
There’s a blaring brilliant light.

indy from My Romantic Home has this gorgeous kitchen chalkboard…and I have a highly functional but highly ugly whiteboard. *smile* I wish I were creative and talented and motivated. If I were I’d add a beautiful frame around it complete with a shelf with a hideaway for the markers and add the little appliqués that Cindy mentions in her post on how to paint furniture. And while I was being creative, talented and motivated, I would paint my kitchen, the table and chairs and the desk and maybe even stencil some beautiful poetic saying above my kitchen sink. Oh, and also buy dishes and silverware that actually matched and…I’m sure Michael, who is very worried about the economy (think MBA and all the economic classes he’s taken for the past two years) and who will probably have had a heart attack due to reading about this casual spending of his hard-earned money and who is a bit of a miser with money in the best of times, is very glad that I’m not motivated…at least not this time, dear. *smile*

MarthaStewart.com has ideas, recipes and crafts for St. Patrick’s Day, Spring and Easter.  Family Fun has Celebrate Spring and Kaboose a little something for everything too.

My beautiful floral graphics which provided the backdrop for my images today came from a very old and dear friend…Lady Dj.  I surely do miss her and the beauty that she brought to the web with her gorgeous images.

Capital Ilove visiting online vintage stores.  I found some new ones this weekend…

t snowed a bit yesterday…finally, some pretty white stuff on the ground! Somehow I always feel cheated if we don’t have one really good all day, all night snowstorm but it’s been many years since we’ve been snowed in. Still, winter isn’t over yet and it has been known to snow in March so I’m still keeping my fingers crossed though my Momma, sisters and most of my friends are hoping for Spring.

I ran across two new blogs that I really liked. Little Cotton Rabbits is the blog of a knitter who makes the most adorable little knitted animals. She also offers free patterns…I don’t knit but I wish I did!

A Storybook Life has a great post on Creations Under Glass - Creative Displays to Fuel the Imagination.

Snow tubing tomorrow with our homeschooling co-op…not too sure about Michael but the boys and I are really looking forward to it. *smile*

The cake dish is empty and my husband has requested that I refill it so I’m off to check a few of my favorite baking websites to see if something catches my eye

Capital Quinn and I started last week and now Cade and Connor are sniffling and sneezing.  This has been a really mild winter (temps again today near 60) and so the cold germs seem to be flourishing with us catching every strain of the virus out there.

Nesting Place, a new favorite thanks to Kim who also gave me my first exposure to Pioneer Woman. I especially loved the post on 30 Minute Makeover Pillows which even I could do…if I had any fringed sofa pillows, that is. (The ones on my bed don’t count as they already perfectly match my bedspread.) *smile*

Aren’t these little Westie cupcakes just adorable?!! And just in time for the 132nd Annual Westminster Dog Show! Quinn was watching it with me last night. Four new breeds will compete this year in 2008.

It’s Abraham Lincoln’s birthday today and my brother-in-law, Rick, and Honey and Rick’s wedding anniversary and also my friend, Jeanne and her husband, Paul.  Happy Birthday! Happy Anniversary!

Dawn has a nice post with links for Mr. Lincoln’s birthday.

I finished up the Valentine’s Day fairy wands for my twin nieces yesterday and I think they turned out rather cute! I started out with beaded hearts on a stick from Michael’s, ribbons, wooden dowels, acrylic paints in red and pink, hot glue, rosettes, charms and other little doololly’s. I removed the plastic sticks from the hearts (or rather Michael did as brute force was needed; thanks Sweetheart!), stuck in the painted dowels and then doctored them up with the rest of the goodies.

My Cupid Poop, in the little heart bags, and homemade cards for the kids are done too. Today after taking Quinn for his consult at the oral surgeons I’ll start making a batch of Pink Velvet Cupcakes which will be decorated with pink marzipan hearts. I picked up the prettiest little matching cupcake liners and boxes from Wilton at Walmart last month.

harming Sam Studios is holding a contest…you can’t enter anymore but you can vote and the photo for download is quite beautiful.  Dawn (who did enter the contest with a gorgeous plaque) is giving away vintage images of babies as a thank you for voting and mentioning her entry on your blog.

Both are offering large-sized images…great for printed projects.

I love this winter banner…creating one for myself now. Here’s my PS work (click below to view) but I’ll post photos when it’s finished and hung on my mantle.

The twins come home this morning. They spent a busy weekend camping with the Boy Scouts. I really miss them when they are gone and so does Quinn.

~~~ . ~~~
Another busy couple of weeks coming up. It starts with Quinn’s consult with the oral surgeon to have his four front baby teeth, top and bottom, removed and ends with our tubing trip to Ski Liberty (Friday, 22 February) and a trip on the Metro to the Smithsonian in DC on Leap Day. In between I have a filling that needs to be replaced, family birthdays and anniversaries to attend, Valentine’s Day presents to finish for my twin nieces and hopefully fit in some shopping as Quinn needs a new pair of sneakers.
~~~ . ~~~

I have tons of photos to share…need to find time to download and pretty them up. I’ve actually been spending the weekend doing a bit of house cleaning, taking advantage of the twins being gone (less children and messes to clean around).

Blessings for a peaceful Sunday.
