There was a distinct hint of autumn yesterday morning whilst watching the boys swim at my Momma’s and again in this morning’s cooler temps. Summer is slipping away and I realize that there are so many things yet that I want to do…
- Visit the Farmer’s Market
- Take the boys for an after-dark ice cream run
- Go antiquing down on the Eastern Shore
- More cookouts with my family
- Spend more time with my family, especially my parents
…and ALL very easily achieved. Thank you, Dear Lord for all my many, many blessings.

Bed in Summer
In winter I get up at night
And dress by yellow candle-light.
In summer quite the other way,
I have to go to bed by day.
And dress by yellow candle-light.
In summer quite the other way,
I have to go to bed by day.
I have to go to bed and see
The birds still hopping on the tree,
Or hear the grown-up people’s feet
Still going past me in the street.
The birds still hopping on the tree,
Or hear the grown-up people’s feet
Still going past me in the street.
And does it not seem hard to you,
When all the sky is clear and blue,
And I should like so much to play,
To have to go to bed by day?

And I should like so much to play,
To have to go to bed by day?

Oh yes, I noticed a hint of Autumn here as well. Slight change in the colours of the leaves. Nothing major. Just a hint of change. And a little cooler in the evenings and morning.
Beautiful post, Dani. I also acknowledge that I want to do similar things still… especially the one about spending more time with my parents. x

Wonderful shots! We have a lot of those around here too..and no water in sight. Weird, huh?
