We had our first homeschooling co-op meeting of the year yesterday…what a full house! Our little co-op had lots of new faces. I think we had nineteen families join. Wow!

We are going to have a family genealogy fair for our October class…each child will create a family tree, however they want, to show off. I had a chance to do a little research online and found some really nice family tree printables in case anyone wanted to create a family tree… especially good for the younger kids. These are all free for the download unless otherwise noted.

Free Family Tree Fan Chart

Free Family Tree Chart – this one lets you add the information directly to the pdf file and then you can print out the 8 ½ by 11 image.

Family Tree Scrapbook Layouts – this one is really nice. It’s a large pdf file filled with large, high resolution printables that would look great on a poster or display board. The link to download is all the way at the bottom of the page (just under all the graphics and they do ask for a paypal donation…if you are able to contribute.)

Some other options:

Create a family tree using an actual tree branch.

Create a Family Tree Shadow Box.

I liked the way this one was created and it looks fairly easy for a upper middle to highschooler to create. Nothing to download…just an example.

This one is also easily created using a frame from the craft store and colored cardstock to create the leaves and trees…another example.

For those that want to scrap it using traditional or digital means, here is a Family Tree Kit for just $3.99 from the Digital Scrapbook Place.
