 All Things Fae

Well, you knew it had to just be a matter of me having the time to put one together.  *smile*

Pool

The pool’s waiting for its seasonal coat of paint so the boys had to entertain themselves in other ways…

Quinn in Pool

Quinn (yes, he is wearing a pink Dora, Dora swimmie diaper from last year–at the end of the season you buy what’s available on the store shelves!) playing in the baby pool and foot bath. He seems to spend hours just leaning over the pool, happily playing like this.

Wet Twins

My wet twins, Cade and Connor, keeping cool by dancing in one of several quick thunderstorms we had that day.

Sean and Samone

My handsome eldest, Sean, (finally I’m loving how he’s keeping his hair!) with his pretty girlfriend, Samone.

Samone and Quinn

Samone and Quinn. Quinn adores Samone. He is a shy little flirt around her. *smile*

Michael

My handsome hubby who never goes anywhere without his school reading materials.

Michael took the bulk of photos on his camera but he wasn’t had time to upload them yet…so you just get the few that I happened to snap. *smile* Hopefully he took some nice ones of Momma and Daddy and the rest of the family because mine had them all with their mouths full of food.

Victoria Magazine

I started my subscription!  I can’t wait until it arrives but until then I think that I will start reading my old Victoria magazines while watching the kids swim this summer.  *smile*

To make it easier to find just the nature journal printables, I’ve added a new category (in the right sidebar) called NJ Print.

I’m still working on my Nature Journaling lens, trying to figure how to best utilize the space. I’m working on cleaning up and organizing all the links. I wish they allowed tables/html for the modules…it would be so much easier! Anyway, I’ve added a little graphic to the right sidebar here that will take you there. *smile*

While going through my stats I ran across an interesting link about Notebooking that was full of great information and very nicely mentioned the graphics I create for my boys.  I did a search for Lapbooking and found another great page full of helpful information and links and so I decided to create one for Nature Journals.

STOP BY AND TAKE A PEEK!

Happy Memorial Day!

Sharon Hughes writes:

“Also, talk to your children about the meaning of Memorial Day - take them to a Memorial Day parade - explain the freedoms for which our soldiers fought and gave their lives for.

Don’t let this Memorial Day go by without observing it with more than a BBQ - remember, it’s not just a day off from work, it’s the day to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.”

Memorial Day

In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

It seems like many of my favorite bloggers are picking up this little utility to add music to their blogs. Cherish the Home has a SongSpot to honor our military. Pretty.

I have something similar on my right sidebar from Radio.Blog.Club with Scottish Moors -The Mermaid’s Tears but you have to click it to hear the music.

I was visiting the blog of my friend, Maureen, and in one of her posts she mentions Dr. Ray. (Maureen and I are part of a Catholic homeschooling email group which, once upon a time, included Dr. Ray’s wife, Randi.) Nosing around Dr. Ray’s website I found his holiday letters.

“What can I say to share our glow over the little ones, James (6), Mary (5), Peter (4), and Elizabeth (2)? They all get along so well, except if they have to share the same house, room, air, or parents. Actually, I’m exaggerating. As long as no one is looking at another, touching another, or sitting on the wrong side of the car, each adores his siblings. I think we need to find more family activities to forge a better bond. The kids suggested starting their Christmas shoplifting early, but Randi and I don’t want to indulge them materially. They can ask the relatives for gifts, just like everyone else. I know that sounds harsh, but we believe parents need to set high standards.”
from Family Letter 2001

“Jon, age thirteen, has no hormonal problem. In fact, we think he has no hormones, and for that matter, no adrenaline, no awareness, no motivation, and no initiative. But he is doing much better in school. Last week he finished a three hundred page book. And even for an eighth-grader, that’s a lot of coloring.”
from Family Letter 2003

…still laughing over them. *smile*
