Michael is working on it as time permits. I don’t know how long it will be before I’ll be up and running…hopefully not long!

The boys enjoyed their breakfast outside on the back deck this morning.

For winter’s rains and ruins are over, And all the season of snows and sins; The days dividing lover and lover, The light that loses, the night that wins; And time remembered is grief forgotten, And frosts are slain and flowers begotten, And in green underwood and cover Blossom by blossom the spring begins. ~A.C. Swinburne~

Our back deck container garden. Quinn had a great time planting his seeds, catching bugs and playing with bubbles. I took advantage of the warmer weather and scrubbed down the back deck, porch and his assorted yard toys.

Step into my garden
Step into my garden
Step in and you’ll see
A measure of peace
And tranquility.
It’s the scent of the blossoms
The buzz of the bees
The sweet song of birds
As they sing in the trees.
The sweet scent of roses
Their petals so new
As they glisten and sparkle
With the fresh morning dew.
Run your toes through the grass
Beneath a canopy of trees
Hear the rustle of leaves
As they blow in the breeze.
Let the beauty of springtime
Fill your soul with great peace
Take it with you and share it
With each one you meet.

You’re closer to God’s heart…
Kiss of the sun for pardon.
Song of the birds for mirth.
You’re closer to God’s heart in a garden
Than any place on earth.

Dawn posted photos of her learning board and work area…Picture perfect! I decided to post photos of ours (in two posts). *smile*
Here’s the twins’ bulletin board. Now our boards are not really learning boards. Ours are more like a mish-mash of things we’ve done, things we’re working on or want to do this year. You can tell I’m a stickler for neatness and organization. Papers are layered upon papers. LOL

Here’s Quinn’s board. There’s a pocketfolder that holds the twins nature journal pages (no room on their board) but the rest is Quinn’s work. His Arbor Day project was the Evan-Moor printable “In the Garden.” We read the pages, discussed flowers and trees and he (with Cade’s help) colored a little.

Continuing from part 1, here are photos from yesterday of the boys working on their Arbor Day lapbooks, bird watching and their completed Arbor Day lapbooks.

May brings review time here in the homeschooling community. Whether your review is handled by your local school board or an umbrella, trying to fulfill your state’s various curriculum requirements can sometimes be a challenge. Here are some links for Health and Music:

A couple of weeks ago the boys picked up magician kits from Barnes and Noble. This week they’ve been practicing and giving little magic shows (to whomever will watch though they don’t like to have Grammie in the audience because she always seems to know their secrets *smile*) whenever they have a free moment. Even Quinn is getting into the act. He came to me with a book and a small toy. I thought he wanted me to read the book but he told me no and then proceeded to put the toy in the book and then opened it quickly saying, “Ta Da!” His own little magic show. *smile*
