WintertimeI’m all warm and snugly, listening to the wind blowing outside the door. Quinn woke up at around 4:00 a.m. and we looked at all of the pictures that I took yesterday and the little movie that I made of my Daddy blowing out his candles on his birthday cake. Quinn wanted to watch it again and again. We had a wonderful time last night…Michael had fun scaring Erich, Hansi and Quinn. The boys were standing up on the bench, under the window, at the dining room table, looking outside at the dark when Michael snuck out the door and came up under the window with a loud, “Rah!” Erich loved it so much that he asked Michael to do it again and again but Quinn and Hansi were a bit startled though they laughed when they realized Daddy/Uncle Michael was the monster.

Daddy's Birthday

I’m praying that the twins are safe and warm in their sleeping bags…and thanking the dear Lord that they are sleeping in a cabin for this Boy Scout campout. I know they have a full day planned and they really do enjoy being around their friends. I hope they behave themselves…the boys are really quite rowdy when they all get together.

Yesterday’s field trip was very nice. The boys thoroughly enjoyed learning about Baltimore’s water and sewage facilities and our teacher and guide was very knowledgable. You could tell that she really loved being around the kids.

Today is shopping and cleaning day (Friday is usually cleaning day for me but I wasn’t here!) and we’re having Mrs. Jenn and her daughter Jenna (her husband is assistant scoutmaster and her son, Jonathon, a scout) over for dinner tonight…really Jenn is coming over to cook her famous macaroni and cheese dish for us…so I’m not quite sure if we’re having her to dinner or she’s having us to dinner. *smile* Looking forward to that.

A cute snowflake builder is here. It’s sort of like making them from paper but you do it online.

The birds are gone, the world is white,
the winds are wild, they chill and bite;
the ground is thick with slush and sleet,
and I can barely feel my feet.
