I’m finally finished! It’s not as full as previous books but it is filled with nice things…

Christmas Lapbook

It has a nice little bio and a picture of St. Nicholas.

The manger scene was printed from graphics bought at pccrafter.com. I printed out the manger scene on photopaper and then printed out Mary, Jesus, Joseph and the Star separately. I cut everything out and glued the manger in the book. I then placed little Velcro pads on the backs of the individual figures and on the fronts of the manger scene in the book so Quinn could play with the figures like paper dolls.

The little elf reminded me of Quinn so I glued the Velcro on him too so he could play with him.

The colors and symbols of Christmas are represented by the jingle bell, stocking and Christmas tree graphics, next to the elf.

The little scroll (mentioned earlier) has the words to Santa Claus is Coming to Town, which Quinn loves to sing.

Quinn made the clay Christmas tree at Kids ‘n Clay in November so I hot glued that in there.

The two Santa gift cards contain journaling with, “The Smells of Christmas” and “Our Christmas Tradtions.”

The little gift tag with Quinn’s newborn picture I created in Photoshop, attached a ribbon with Christmas charm and little jingle bell and wrote, “Our Precious Gift.”

The little sleigh with toys has a banner that reads, “Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus,” and to finish it off I attached some holiday counting cards (the reindeer peeking from behind) that I made for Quinn (you can download them HERE) to the back of the book with a ribbon that ties inside.

I spent more time tidying up this book’s ragged edges after cutting open the pocket than I have on his previous books. Every inch is covered with papers or ribbons.

Quinn actually ran off with it from the table before everything had been glued down, dropping bits and pieces on the floor, so he could sit on the living room floor and look at it. He does love his lapbooks and I’m glad. They are a lot of work but worth every minute (cutting out the manger - my fingers still hurt! LOL) to see his little face light up and hear him tell me, “I wov dis book!” *smile*
