Another Halloween has come and gone. It was an absolutely beautiful night with mild temperatures. My parents and sisters went with us. My nieces, Hanna and Ellie, were adorable little witches and my little nephews, Hans and Erich, went as Elmo and a Tiger. Connor and Cade made their own costumes this year and Quinn wanted to go again as a pirate. Thankfully the costume still fit. I recycled Michael’s flowing Phantom of the Opera shirt and vest and Connor used his mask. We finished off the evening with a cookout at my parents’ house. We really missed having Daddy trick or treating with us (he was at school…as usual!) and will be very thankful when he graduates in 2 more years!

Yesterday we had our monthly homeschool co-op meeting and Mrs. Kim did a great job of teaching American Government to the kids. We’ll go on a field trip to Annapolis (our state’s capitol) on next Friday doing a walking tour of the city which will include the state house and the United States Naval Academy.

We’ve got another full day planned again…school, Quinn’s class at Kids ‘n Clay, the twins and Quinn have their annual teeth cleaning at the dentist, and karate this evening.

Blog notes:
Kim is putting together a beautiful Home Management Journal and offering the Word documents to help you get started on yours.

The Leaves
The leaves had a wonderful frolic.
They danced to the wind’s loud song.
They whirled, and they floated, and scampered.
They circled and flew along.
The moon saw the little leaves dancing.
Each looked like a small brown bird.
The man in the moon smiled and listened,
And this is the song he heard.
The North Wind is calling, is calling,
And we must whirl round and round,
And then, when our dancing is ended,
We’ll make a warm quilt for the ground.
