Family Trees
by Christine M. Tozzo, Rhymes for Reasons 941-966-7668
We‘re born into a family tree
Whose roots extend through you and me
Our family‘s large, the seeds are sown
Each year our family tree has grown
But sometimes branches go astray
From hurtful words of yesterday
And even though the roots go on
The foundation of the family‘s gone
As we all get on in years
We long to cast aside our fears
And put away our foolish pride
And gather family to our side
Those who‘ve gone before us all
Will smile in Heaven and heed the call
For us to gather at Heaven‘s door
The scattered branches rejoined once more!!
